Meet my baby girl! [August 23, 2008 @ 9:15am]
On August 15, we went to the doctor for our second sonogram in order to do the baby's anatomy scan and find out the sex. Well, it's a girl! She weighs 1 pound and 4 ounces right now, and she's growing nicely. I've posted some of the sonogram pictures. Click on them to the the ridiculously large version.

This is just a basic side shot of her hanging out.

She's poking at her mom's belly.

She's covering her face with her hand. No pictures please.

Dear LJ [November 29, 2007 @ 7:40am]
It's time for me to move along again. My life has changed a lot in the the last year. I've graduated college, gotten engaged and then married, and I have moved twice. As I am preparing to move yet again to begin grad school, I feel it's time for yet another change. For all practical purposes I've abandoned this LJ for about the last 6 months, because my life has been so busy. Now I'm looking to start blogging again and I need something fresh and new, so I'm moving myself over to a new blog. If anyone wants to come read, that's great! If not I definitely understand. The friends page makes it easy to check out people's new posts. Thanks to everyone who has read my LJ for their kindness. The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

[July 11, 2007 @ 11:00am]
I’m giving up on doing this alone now
Cause I’ve failed and I’m ready to be shown how
He’s told me the way and I’m trying to get there
And this life sentence that I’m serving
I admit that I’m every bit deserving
But the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair

Cause I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and
I’ve been locked inside that house all the while You hold the key
And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me
And even though, there’s no way in knowing where to go, promise I’m going because
I gotta get outta here
Cause I’m afraid that this complacency is something I can’t shake
I gotta get outta here
And I’m begging You, I’m begging You, I’m begging You to be my escape.

I am a hostage to my own humanity
Self detained and forced to live in this mess I’ve made
And all I’m asking is for You to do what You can with me
But I can’t ask You to give what You already gave

From the Urban Dictionary entry for: Christian Indie [July 05, 2007 @ 11:43am]

Christian Indie is all the radness of a regular indie lifestyle, combined with hardcore christian beliefs. This would apply to kids who used to listen to Bright Eyes, but got saved and now they go to youth and do human videos to Mewithoutyou songs.
Most of them still hold tight to there indie awsomeness and continue listening to local indie bands from there home town.

Bands:
Mewithoutyou
Starflyer 59
Tree63
Anberlin
Joy Electric
Relient K
Blindside
Showbread

Regular Indie kid: Hey William, let's go listen to my new Modest Mouse cd.

christian Indie Kid: No thanks, I love Jesus so I'm gonna go make a mixtape of my favourite Mewithoutyou songs and read my bible.
R.I.K: Posuer. *gosh william is hardcore, I'm wanna go to church*
Regular Indie Kid: Hey Veronica, wanna come to my garage and work on our 'zine while we listen to The Postal Service?
Christian Indie Girl: Rain check on that friend, I have to go do devotionals, update my myspace and design a Never Perfect Intentions shirt.
R.I.K: No **** , You still listen to NPI? *She's so effing Indie*

Resolution 18 [June 06, 2007 @ 10:33am]
To strive in every way to be a husband who loves his wife as Christ loves the church and a father who puts the word of God upon His children's lips by instruction and example through love.

Who got engaged? [May 29, 2007 @ 9:02am]
I DID! Saturday night I asked Charlee to marry me. Our church runs an art school out of the church gym and Charlee is the theater instructor. At the end of every semester, there are showcases to show off the kid's art, music, and theater. Charlee's showcase was saturday night. Her middle aged group was putting on a production of Hansel and Gretal. The last line of the play was one of the boys saying "I'll never play practical jokes again." I ammended his line to add, "Except this one", and I had him run over to the side of the stage and pull a rope. When he pulled the rope a huge cloth sign fell, which had the text "Charlee will you marry me?" screened on it. I then came up behind her. (She was in the back running the lights.) I took her hand and walked her to the stage and then got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes! The showcases are taped to make DVDs for the parents, so I will probably have the video up eventually.

Relient K's newest album is <3 [May 23, 2007 @ 11:46am]

Relient K - The Best Thing Lyrics

It's been a year
Filled with problems
But now you're here
Almost as if to solve them
And I can't live in a world without you now

All my life
I've been searching for you
How did I survive
In this world before you
Cuz I don't wanna live another day without you now

This is the best thing
The best thing that could be happening
And I think you would agree
The best thing is that it's
Happening to you and me

All I'm gonna have
Is all that you can give me
And I'll give right back
Everything I have in me
Cuz nothing ever felt as right
As this does right now

I'll go back to before we met
Can I erase the past
Try harder to forget cuz
Nothing will ever be as good as here and now

Cuz when I looked into your eyes
And you dared to stare right back
You should've said "Nice to meet you, I'm your other half"

And this is the best thing
The best thing that could be happening
And I think you would agree
The best thing is that it's happening
This is the best thing (the best thing)
The best thing that could be happening (the best thing)
And I think you would agree (whoooaaa whooaa)
The best thing is that it's
Happening to you and me

Always knew
I'd find someone
I never dreamt
It'd be like this
You've surpassed
All that I've hoped for (and ever wished)
And I'm tryin'
So hard
WIth all my heart and mind
To make your life
As good as you've made mine

This is the best thing (the best thing)
The best thing that could be happening (the best thing)
And I think you would agree (whooaaa)
The best thing is that it's happening to you and me

The best thing is that it's happening to you and me
The best thing is that it's happening to you and me

(The best thing) The best thing that could be happening
(The best thing) I think you would agree
The best thing is that it's happening to you and me

avril lavigne...girlfriend [May 08, 2007 @ 7:14am]
If you know my well, you know I'm not an MTV person. They don't play music videos anyway, and the few that they do play aren't my style. So, I just saw the video to Avril Lavigne's song girlfriend. That has got to be the worst video ever. The song and video are all about one girl trying to steal another's boyfriend. It's ridiculous...and what's worse is that the girl who gets her boyfriend stolen looks a bit nerdy, so I'm sure that does a lot for the nerdy kids all across the nation. ridiculous...

Yaaaaawwwwwnnn..... [May 07, 2007 @ 9:49am]
Well, I guess it's time for an update. I've been so busy lately. Here's the run down. I decided to move. My brother and sister-in-law have moved out of my dad's rent house, and so I decided it would make a nice first house for when I get married. So, the last few days have been a blur of moving my stuff from Baton Rouge to Fordoche. Charlee currently lives with her older sister and lives out of a closet. All of her apartment stuff was occupying the garage, which wasn't a good thing. We decided to just move Charlee's stuff into my house and get rid of my stuff, because Charlee's stuff is nicer. All my stuff is hand me down random furniture. Charlee's furniture is matched and very nice. In fact, I'll probably post some pics of the new place later on tonight if I can get a chance. My car totally broke down this morning, so when I get off of work I'm going to have to go fix it. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

Oh....and I got a new driver's license.

The Lappy is back and so am I! [April 30, 2007 @ 12:31pm]

Well, my laptop is back, and so I decided to take a moment to post. The youth minister at my church has been gone for the last three weeks to India on a mission trip. I have been doing the music (playing and singing) while he was away. I also preached to the youth on the last Wednesday that he was gone. The text of which can be read here under an LJ cut. Be prepared though. It was a 30 minute sermon, so It's pretty lengthy.

XCollapse )

Anyway, I am midway through my mandatory 2 week break from work. I have to take 2 weeks off every 120 days. Personally I would rather have the money, but it's nice to not have to get up and go to work. Charlee and I went this past weekend to Lake Charles for me to meet her dad's side of the family. It was a blast. Her cousin Jade and husband Steven are a blast. We played DDR at their apartment Friday night. It was a lot of fun even though I suck pretty badly at the DDR. Charlee had never played before and she did great for a beginner. Well, I have to fix a friend's laptop, so until next time...

Who is in control? [April 18, 2007 @ 8:20am]
Isaiah 46:8-11

"Remember this and stand firm,
recall it to mind, you transgressors,
 remember the former things of old;
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me,
declaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done,
saying, 'My counsel shall stand,
and I will accomplish all my purpose,'
calling a bird of prey from the east,
the man of my counsel from a far country.
I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass;
I have purposed, and I will do it."

"When 'church time' is seen as a competitor to 'family time,' something is wrong at church. When family members hardly see each other at church activities, the congregation needs to take a quick inventory of its concept of ministry."
